Here’s some background info about these pieces:

I inherited a collection of knick-knacks from my brother when he passed away last year. Now some of these tempting treasures including old lighters, dice and seltzer bottles have found a new home in a vintage typesetter’s box. I think Bobby would have got a kick out of it. Wishful-Sinful 2, (Bobby’s Box) measures 16.5″ high x 32″ wide.

My collection of vacuum tubes and their colourful vintage packaging forms the basis of Connected 2. While looking closely at a bunch of electrical fuses, I found myself enchanted with their design. And as I found every angle pleasing, I decided to display them in different configurations along the borders of the vintage typesetter tray. Plastic radio dials and other bits ‘n’ bobs of connecting things round out this piece. Connected 2 measures 16.5″ high x 32″ wide.

My Optimism of Color Blog

Every Tuesday and Friday, I post a photo or piece of art that I’ve created that reflects what I call the Optimism of Color. Through vibrant colors and bold visceral forms, these works shout out my joy at being alive, and my good fortune at being able to continue to make art after surviving five cardiac arrests in one night in 2011.

Each of the images I post brings a smile to my face. I hope they bring you similar joy and laughter through the Optimism of Color.
