I love old buildings and nothing gives me greater pleasure than walking city streets taking photos of historic building facades. With their handcrafted doors, leaded glass windows and finely wrought architectural details, these buildings are solid testaments to a bygone era.
With my neck craned back, my eyes scan the tops of buildings, straining to catch a glimpse of the fascinating ornamentation that few ever notice – the gargoyles and grotesques mutely staring down at us mortals passing beneath their watch.
My latest photo art portfolio presents 26 of my favourite images of stone and plaster-formed faces. Transcending Time is available on Magcloud – $10 (US) a copy includes free digital version.

About the Optimism of Color Blog
Every Tuesday and Friday, I’m posting a photo or piece of art that I’ve created that reflects what I call the Optimism of Color. Through vibrant colors and bold visceral forms, these works shout out my joy at being alive, and my good fortune at being able to continue to make art after a near death experience.
Each of the images I post brings a smile to my face. I hope they bring you similar joy and laughter through the Optimism of Color.
